Michael Cortina
Interdisciplinary Designer & Maker
I use the term ‘Maker’ as anything else would be too limiting. There’s no other word broad enough to encompass my diverse abilities and interests. I feel just as comfortable on a computer using CAD, as I do covered in sawdust, or behind a welding helmet, a sewing machine, soldering iron, drafting table, CNC machine: Making
I grew up surrounded by smart creative people in the maker movement who launched a lifelong passion for learning.
After high school at Durham School of the Arts, I attended the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2022, I graduated with a Bachelors Fine Arts in Furniture Design. A disipline that stands at the intersection of many others; Product Design, Sculpture, Textiles, and Industrial Design to name a few.
